On behalf of the management and staff of the Swift Current Fire Department, I welcome you to our website. It is our intention to have a website that is useful to the public and others, providing information on our department.
Our department provides a wide range of services to the community. These services include fire suppression, dangerous goods response, technical rescue, emergency medical services, inspection and code enforcement and public education. Our department is also responsible for emergency preparedness, and prepares our community for potential disaster situations. Please surf our website to obtain information on these services and activities.

Fire Careers
We are currently not recruiting for full time firefighters, but we encourage you to submit your resume to Human Resources if you possess the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 or GED equivalency
- Certificate from a recognized pre-employment program (Fire College)
- Primary Care Provider Certificate
- Current CPAT Test (completed within last 6 months)
- Visual acuity greater than 20/30 uncorrected, normal color vision & normal hearing ability
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License or higher
- R.C.M.P. security clearance/Criminal Record check
- Ability to communicate effectively both written & orally in the English language
